How to Enable Copilot in Word
Check Your Subscription and License
- Ensure you have an eligible Microsoft 365 subscription (such as Business Standard, Business Premium, Business Basic, Apps for business/enterprise, E3, or E5).
- You must also have a Microsoft 365 Copilot add-on license assigned to your account. This add-on is purchased separately and is required for Copilot features in Word.

Update Microsoft Word
- Open Word and go to
File > Account > Update Options > Update Now
to make sure you have the latest version.
- Open Word and go to
Sign In
- Use your Microsoft 365 account credentials to sign in to Word.
